Own the advantage on the rugby field

Designed to adapt to the ever-changing game of rugby, the new adizero RS15 boots are built for multi-directional speed – and to be your advantage on the field.

The modern rugby game is ever-changing. The demands require players to be stronger, cover more ground and be faster than ever, across all positions on the field. But as rugby changes, so does the adidas boot range. Combining the best features of previous models, the new adizero RS15 is designed to be your advantage on the rugby field.

A shared story of evolution

The game of rugby is speeding up, with refs calling out time-wasting, rules being changed to limit stoppages and positions being redefined to be faster and more agile. And it’s not just us at adidas saying that. The very first step in developing our products is conducting extensive interviews with players, retailers and consumers. We do that because once we understand how the game is evolving, we know how our own products should evolve, too. We focus on what we can improve and how we can support the changes to the game. And by testing both internally and with our athletes globally, we can ensure an unbiased test method with both elite athletes, grassroots and even non rugby players for fit, feel and comfort. Throughout the design process, we have multiple touchpoints for the players to get used to the boot as we build it, improve it and finalize it. It’s a long process, which takes place over 18 months, but which always starts with the player interviews.

The new adizero RS15: combining the best of the best

One of the most important insights we gained from our athletes’ and consumers’ feedback is that, while different positions have different demands, in the modern game, speed is vital for all players on the field.

The way players approach the game now is all about multi-directional speed, both in attack and defense. Players have to cover more ground than ever, so it’s clear why the number one and two asks from the rugby consumer and athlete now are lightweight and speed.

And we listened. The new adizero RS15 combines the very best features from existing rugby Predator and adizero RS7 models and upgrades them with a boot that adds new technology and a lightweight frame, to meet the needs and requirements of a multitude of positions.

Fast. Faster. adizero RS15.

Launching ahead of this year’s showpiece competition in France, the adizero RS15 comes with leading speed-focused performance innovations.

Speedframe Technology on the boot’s sole enables multi-directional speed and acceleration, without compromising on traction or heel support.

Fusionskin Technology, a full-grain leather often described as “liquid leather”, features from the forefoot to the midfoot before transitioning into a ripstop material on the back quarter of the boot – creating an adaptive and supportive fit.

The boot’s upper features asymmetrical lacing and 3D-printed detailing, for control and a wide sweet spot for players when kicking.

A launch with a bang

This year’s tournament in France represents the pinnacle of the men’s game. When designing high-performance sporting equipment for major tournaments, we know that the kit and boots will become etched in history and adidas has been at the heart of many of the games’ most iconic moments. Our focus on innovation to the benefit of all our athletes means we're set to be part of many more moments to come as we, and the game itself, keep evolving.

adidas partners with some of the leading rugby players in the world including Antoine Dupont, Emily Scarratt, Romain Ntamack, Beauden Barrett, Ruby Tui, Tom Curry, Finn Russell Louis Rees-Zammit, Jonny Sexton and Josh Van Der Flier. These players, among many others, will debut the new boot range in the upcoming 2023 summer internationals, before the male players wear them whilst competing on the biggest stage in rugby, in Paris later this year.
