Always hate having to buy new tennis shoes when the grip on the soles wears out, but this pair are a good-looking colour combination and instantly as comfortable as the old ones.
I have ran around 100km in these shoes so far and compared to the ultraboosts, they have more structure and support for a mid to forefoot striker. The sole also seems much more durable than the ultraboosts and they are significantly lighter.
My son plays on a junior basketball team and he thinks they are great to play in
The original adizero shoes were a favourite of mine. Then came boost, which made me switch to adidas completely. The combination of both is awesome; the nostalgia of the old shoes coupled with boost technology!
I bought these for my shorter races - 5k to 10k and I do think they fit the bill perfectly. They are light enough without sacrificing all comfort (which a person of my age appreciates). The colour layout is stunning - yellow, black with silver logos is just great. Comfortable right out of the box
very light, very comfortable....more than i expected
I've owned two pairs of these and put 600km through them. I have quite wide feet and they come up quite narrow. This means that my outside (little) toes rub holes in the mesh very quickly - like 200-300km quickly. Its a really design flaw and happens all too readily. Knit-like construction does seem to help so the Ultra Boost will be worth a try. Also, on longer runs my particular pronation caused the inner sole to move slightly creating a ridge inside on the outer edge which, during a marathon, was uncomfortable. This isn't easy to correct, the second pair I had hasn't done this quite so often on longer runs. However, these shoes have given me PBs in 5k to marathon distance and their light construction has improved my cadence and reduced my fatigue. I'm not a great mid-foot striker, I still favour heel when tired, but I do think the Boost has given me a little less fatigue than I'd normally expect. Tread-wise, nothing has been grippier on wet tarmac (ashphalt) concrete or paving slabs. You can run with confidence in damp and greasy conditions. I have done some light trail running in these too (coastal paths, canal paths and disused rail lines) and generally if it's not too rocky (where the lack of strength in the upper causes you to turn an ankle) they're absolutely fine. In short, a good recommendation for long-distance training and even the shorter stuff but you'll get longer wear from them if your feet are narrow and if you have a more truly neutral style.
I bought these for my daughter who plays for the national team she has worn Nike for the past few years but tried these out after a few foot problems with her previous boots. She thinks they are superb & are a lot better quality than the Nikes great comfort & really well made!! She is now waiting for a mi Adidas option to design her own!! Great job guys
My son wanted a trainer that all his mates that shop in JD's won't already have & these caught his eye. He's inbetween sizes and the 6 1/2 was perfect.
I liked the looks of these shoes when I ordered them, and they did not disappoint me. They are comfortable and good-looking. The only concern I have is that they are a little difficult to put on due to how they enclose my feet. But once they are on, they are great!
normally this is something i wouldn't recommend, these were first pair of shoes I put on straight out the box and ran 25km as part of a 100km team relay. Lightweight energenic shoe! Will be using this shoe as my got to daily trainer
these trainers look great and feel light and comfortable. However I would suggest going half a size larger than you normally are for a more comfortable fit. I am a mild over pronator and these seem to work well with me.
Overall Adidas's best performance basketball shoes to date from my personal point of view. Support is not an issue even with the low cut, Boost heel cushion is AWESOME while forefoot Adiprene+ is proper. Toebox fit is sloppy, and I recommend that you swap your insole with some Airsole products or if you have the old Rose products, you can use those thick padded insoles, that will give you some extra cushion in forefoot and also fix the toebox sloppy fit issue. Ventilation is A+, primeknit allow Adidas to actually open up the the upper of this shoe and you can actually see your socks through the open area. If you swapped the insole, fit will be the best feature on the shoe, mainly due to the seemless primeknit upper. you will forget that you are wearing them during the game.
Trust me when I say this, I have a lot of adidas tennis shoes. I am a big fan of the barricade and have recently been sporting the barricade 9 which I think is a great shoe. Recently I got the chance to test out the new Ubersonic, I have tried a couple of Adizero shoes in the past but often found them feeling either cheap or uncomfortable. Firstly, I was keen to try this particular model because I think it looks great. In all black with a red sole these shoes look like they mean business, a stealth bomber disguised as a tennis shoe. The profile of the shoe also boosts it's aesthetics, the guys at adidas told me this has been build on a running last thus giving the unbersonic a sleek and speedy look. The subtle 3 stripe branding on the side and adidas logo on the heel all add to the shoes look. It's not showy, it's 'I am going to sneak on on court, cause you problems, and then disappear before you even know who or what happened' and I love that! So, how does the Ubersonic perform? I haven't been harping on about the looks just because I am image concious, although we do all like to look good on court. However I think the performance of this shoe is actually based around the sleek and speedy look of it. The shoe feels planted, you feel low to the ground and ready to pounce, or dance if that's more your thing. My best analogy is that this this is an F1 car, and your the driver sat low and close to the floor. It defiantly does feel a little like a running shoe for tennis, and maybe that's what adidas had in mind. This shoe is supposed to be about speed and I certainly feel quicker around the court in this vs a barricade. Don't worry when I say running shoe, this still has good lateral support which is set toward the mid and rear of the shoe in the form of a reforced polymer band in which the laces loop through and lock you down. Adidas has informed me they have moved toward mid/rear foot support to help give more flexibly/agility in the forefoot, and this certainly delivers. Grip wise, at first they felt all over the show, I think with any new pair you need to take a thin layer of rubber off before they becoming sticky. After a few matches I feel I have a perfect balance between grip and the ability to slide a little on a hard court. A number of people often pick a tennis shoe based on durability, for me it's not really on my list of requirements, I go for comfort first, how it's feels, how it looks and then will it last. I am not best placed to comment on the durability having only worn the shoe for a couple of weeks. So far so good, I have been playing hard and pushing the shoe, there is a thick layer of rubber around the toe box for abrasion protection and mine still look close to new despite me sliding around the court. I am guessing the outsole will last as adidas have used the industry standard in durability, their adiwear6 rubber. Inside the shoe there is an internal sock and sharks tooth lining (that's what I call it) basically it grips the sock to stop your foot sliding around. I think adidas have really upped their game in the comfort category with this shoe and the most recent barricade, so we'll done adidas! I have given this shoe 5 stars, I think it's possibly one of the best shoes on the market aimed at a serious player with a fast game and I can't wait to put them on my feet again. Finally, word of advice, I am usually a UK 10, however the 10.5 fits me perfect. Thanks.
Excellent service, delivery was very quick and the shoes fit perfectly and are excellent for the purpose. Very happy overall
I really liked the shoe it is very durable fashionable and comfortable really worth the price
