Bought this so my son could get in-game soccer performance feedback. In order to do that, the Speedcell has to pair with the micoach soccer app. Would not pair. Even had Adidas send a second one, with no luck. Works great with the regular micoach app, if you are running with an iPod or iPhone and you want instant feedback, but for later pairing with the soccer, running, or basketball app, forget it, it just doesn't work.
The Adidas forums are filled with others complaining about thes same problem.

I wanted only the connect to go with the heart rate monitor but there was no way to buy only those two products. Speed cell is redundant with gps and the mobile app.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MiCoachMakesMeSad Avoid at all costs
The iPhone/iPod version of this product does not work as intended for the sport specific apps. I purchased this in April and have only just recently been able to pair it with my iPod. That was a step in the right direction but now I am still unable to download my tennis matches to the app.
I regret not having read the horror stories on the forums about this product before buying it. The idea behind this product are great but the implementation is severely flawed.
If you are interested in this product, buy the USB version that is supposed to work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JayJay125 Warning!!!! MiCoach apps are not compatible with 1st or 2nd gen Ipod touch
Contrary to specs on internet or literature that comes with speedcell, the micoach apps are only compatible with 3rd gen or later ipod touch. The old version, version 2.0.1 was updated to 2.1 back in July-Aug 2012, it and this new version is no longer compatible with 1st and 2nd gen ipod touch. The older version of the MiCoach app (version 2.0.1) is no longer offered anywhere. As a result, my son's Christmas gift is unusable in unless I buy a new ipod touch. If you plan to use this with a 1st or 2nd gen ipod touch, save your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mandapanda13 Great for running!
I've had my sensor for about a year now and only changed the battery the other day!!! I agree with the other folks that it can be challenging to set everything up at first and there needs to be clarification between the pc technology and the phone technology. Other than that I have used my speed cell on rainy days and dry days and it has prevailed!! I just purchased Micoach cleats so I'm excited to see me football stats!!! The shoe clip is useless and I almost lost my speed cell!!! So either get the proper shoes or put the cell in your sock!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by riverside30 Sensor does not work
Just wasted four hours trying to pair the senor with the dongle. Dongle works fine as the icon is green on my iPhone 4. Followed all the troubleshooting tips on the website including the 'make sure you walk 24 steps' but the device is not being recognised. Looks as if i am not the first one with this issue.
Just contacted Adidas and will return this one and i would like a replacement, as i think, if working' it will be a fantastic product.
First disappointing Adidas experience from a loyal 44 year Adidas brand lover !!!
